Butterfly Vases by Wrap

Behind the brand

At Gretel, we seek out products that exude a worldly charm while embodying Miami’s sun-soaked spirit. The bold, cheerful, and graphic designs of East London-based Wrap fit the bill perfectly. Their trays and vases feel right at home in the tropics—or in any space that welcomes a splash of color. Setting Wrap apart is its dual focus on gorgeous home accessories and a beautiful print magazine, each showcasing the work of the artists the brand champions. The print magazine was Wrap’s first venture in 2010, featuring the work of up-and-coming creatives on large pull-out wrapping paper sheets. Since then, the brand has published 13 editions and collaborated with over 50 illustrators to create hundreds of products, directly supporting independent artists and their craft.

Meet the creators

Wrap was founded by designers Polly and Chris Harrison. Gretel currently sells products by several of Wrap’s artists although the first one to grab our attention was Micke Lindebergh, with his bold floral trays and bubble-letter greeting cards. Working with acrylics, high-pigment Posca pens and Riso printing techniques, the Sydney-based artist creates playful bloom-filled compositions that are full of movement, joy and always color! A newer addition to Gretel’s collection is the work of Elena Boils. Elena is an illustrator who lives between Mexico City and London, finding inspiration in the contrast between the two countries she calls home. She works primarily in Photoshop, but her process involves a back-and-forth between digital and physical drawing. Her stylized fruity creations are fresh and fun with a cartoon-like feel.

Tales of discovery

While exploring East London, we stumbled upon Wrap magazine and couldn’t resist purchasing a copy. Alongside the giant wrapping sheets, each issue contains insightful interviews, stunning illustrations and studio visits. What a fabulous combination! To our delight, on returning to Miami, we discovered that Wrap offers an expanding collection of home products. With every new delivery, our appreciation for their creativity and the artists we discover thanks to them only grows!
