Striped Conical Terracotta Vase by Casa Cubista

Each graphically striped conical vase by Casa Cubista is hand-made from terracotta in Portugal. We love the charming effect of the hand-painted brushstrokes paired with simple lines. The resulting pieces are perfectly modern with an artisanal feel. 

The conical vases are made from terracotta clay and dried in the sun. After the first firing, each piece is carefully hand-painted. The vase is fired once more before undergoing a quality control inspection.

Large: 5.75 inches wide and 7.5 inches high.

Small: 4 inches wide and 6 inches high.

To maintain the integrity of the pieces dishwasher use is not recommended.

This vase has an unglazed terracotta finish. 

Casa Cubista was founded in 2016 with the idea of sharing Portuguese design and discoveries with friends around the world. Born in Olhão, a bustling fishing port on Portugal's Algarve coast, the name Cubista comes from the unusual whitewashed and tiled cubist style of buildings found in the alleys and streets of the old town. 

Casa Cubista's terracotta production is lead by Rui, who's family has been in the pottery business for 200 years! Rui is a master on the potter's wheel (he started in the family business when he was 8). The Ray collection of tableware is painted by his aunt Regina, and other talented painters.

As with most hand-made items, no two vases are identical.
