Venus Doormat by Danica Studio

The infamous carnivorous plant, the Venus flytrap, is given a folky makeover on Danica Studio's Venus doormat. This fantastically floral mat is made from coir fiber (which is the fibrous material found between the hard, internal shell and the outer coat of a coconut) and harvested from fertilizer and pesticide-free palm trees in Kerala, India. Danica Studio's manufacturer has reduced fresh water consumption by 50% through reverse osmosis water treatment and its rain water collection system. The coir and jute fiber waste is reused for biodegradable garden items.
